Introduction

  Georgiana M.M. Chenault Ph.D.

Welcome to my site. It shows the things I'm passionate about in life; and like my drawings and paintings, it is a work in progress. Because it is dedicated to the rescue of our canine companions, there are links to rescue organizations in Texas and in the United States. Please feel free to email me with other links and I will add them, as well.

I grew up surrounded by beautiful things. This was easy, since my parents are antique collectors and dealers, and being a prototypical Southern Girl, I wanted to live with them in adulthood. I studied art in community college and later worked in a painting co-op in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where I was a member of the Southern Artists Association and exhibited at the fine arts center. I learned to weave and thoroughly enjoyed producing soft sculpture and "wearable art," winning numerous prizes.  However, weaving is hard on the back and I had to give it up. Today I have my own businesses in Waller, Texas, and am making time to return to drawing and painting. In 1998 I finished work on my doctorate in adult bilingual training from Texas A&M University. The faces that I studied then, in academia, are now the faces that I study in pencil and paint. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if I may help you capture a loved one, either two or four legged, on paper.

My enjoyment of drawing and painting blends well with my love for all creatures. My canines are family members and friends. Some of them are pictured here. Other paintings are of dogs in rescue. One is a service dog; another two are duck retrievers.

Watercolor paintings and pencil drawings are my favorite things. They remind me of the transitory nature of life, and feel like snapshots to me. My portraits are quite reasonable:  postcard sized paintings are $25; 12 x 20 paintings are $250. I very much enjoy painting people with their pets. I include additional images at $50 each.

Thank you for your visit. Please feel free to browse.

Pictures of the wonderful dogs I share my life with can be found below.

"Tony"

Tony was rescued from Greyhound Pets Of America in Houston, TX.  He was slow and clumsy on the race track, but now he is a big sweetie.

"Ted"

Ted was rescued from the Brazos Valley Shelter in College Station, TX.  He is a real ham and is always posing for pictures.  Ted now lives with and 'owns' my parents.
